Cardiac First Responder
– Industry Approved Advanced Course
Course Aim:
The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to effectively respond to and assist in medical or trauma incidents involving cardiac arrest. It will cover implementing the chain of survival and applying Industry Approved Care Standards.
Course Objective:
In addition to the competencies taught at the CPR Community level, the Advanced level course teaches the use of:
- Oropharyngeal airway (OPA) & supraglottic airway (SGA) bag valve mask (BVM)
- Pulse Checks
- 2-person CPR, oxygen administration, and post-resuscitation care
Training Methods & Duration:

The course will incorporate both theory and practical learning, encouraging student participation and feedback to ensure a strong understanding of practical skills.

Recognition of prior learning will apply to candidates who can provide evidence of industry-Approved CFR Training.

DVD learning tools will be used to facilitate this course.

A community certificate will be received within 60 days of applying for the CFR Advanced course.

The course duration is 1 day (6 hours).
Who Should Attend:

This course is suitable for anybody who wishes to learn how to operate an AED and provide effective CPR and airway management.
Assessment & Certification:

Candidates will be assessed through a skills demonstration and a multiple-choice theory exam.

Successful candidates will receive an EMTS Cardiac First Response Advanced Certificate valid for 2 years.
