Cardiac First Responder – Community Industry Approved Course
Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to assist in any medical trauma incident by implementing the chain of survival and applying care to the standards set down by industry.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, candidates will be able to:

Recognize the signs and symptoms of Cardiac Arrest, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, Stroke, and Heart Attack.

Be fully competent in the operation of the AED, Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, as well as in the treatment of Stroke and Heart Attack Patients.

This course includes the Administration of Aspirin.

Training Methods & Duration:

The course will utilize both theory and practical learning to encourage student participation and feedback and ensure strong knowledge of practical skills. DVD learning tools will be used to facilitate this course, which will take approximately 4 hours.
Who Should Attend:

This course is suitable for anybody who wishes to learn how to operate an AED and provide effective CPR.
Assessment & Certification:
-
Candidates will be assessed through a skills demonstration. Successful candidates will receive a Cardiac First Response Certificate valid for 2 years.
